Ballet Fantastique opens its 2011–2012 season with powerful bravura, when the LA-based band Incendio plays its Latin, Middle Eastern, jazz fusion live with ballet for the first time. Richly-textured, all-original choreography by mother-daughter co-producers Donna and Hannah Bontrager shows off the critically-acclaimed dancers of Ballet Fantastique's chamber company. The sounds of Incendio's sweeping, passionate music meet the skill and daring of Ballet Fantastique dancers in a celebration of brilliant live music and dance. Join dancers from the Ballet Fantastique company and The Academy of Ballet Fantastique for a lovely winter adventure with the charming, whimsical characters of Beatrix Potter. The dancers’ fancy footwork, incredible costumes, and contagious energy tell the stories of the mischievous Peter Rabbit, prim Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, determined Jemima Puddle-Duck (and the Fox who wants to make her into soup!), exuberant Jeremy Fisher (a frog who doesn’t like to get wet), silly Squirrel Nutkin, and more. A fabulous, unique, and fun ballet for the whole family to enjoy!

Inspired by the ancient treasury 1,001 Arabian Nights, choreographers Donna and Hannah Bontrager weave tales of adventure, truth, fantastic imagination, justice, and faith with their original choreography. With the ancient power of story, this all-new Ballet Fantastique production sweeps through Persia, Arabia, and India. Its lavish costuming and fantastic choreography will enthrall you.

Ballet Fantastique's daring, all-original, rock and roll version of the Cinderella story is unstoppable! This ballet, set in the 1960's to live soul-warming music by Satin Love lead singers Shelley and Cal James and their band, will rock to the nostalgic songs of The Supremes, The Ronettes, The Temptations, The Beatles, and more. An intimate taste of the best of the Northwest! Join the Ballet Fantastique dancers, choreographers, and musicians at Ballet Fantastique's beautiful new downtown City Center for Dance (960 Oak St) on selected Wednesdays throughout the season for a behind-the-scenes open rehearsal preview of new performance premieres in progress, plus tastings of wine from local gem Pyrenees Vineyards and Wine Cellars. Suggested donation: $5 for rehearsal only, $15 for generous wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres, and rehearsal. Note: Ballet Fantastique Season Subscribers receive a free Open Barre Season Pass! (Otherwise, admission is at the door.)

Sunday, May 20, 2012 from noon-5 pm: Limo Wineries Tour with the Dancers
Celebrate the powerful and inspiring women in your life with a unique and elegant afternoon tour through the best of Eugene's wine country! Taste and tour delicious Northwest wines at our favorite wineries, enjoy a private tour of King Estate, feast on delightful hors d'oeuvres in the limosine, and have fun with the dancers of Ballet Fantastique and Artistic Director Donna Marisa Bontrager!
